WHO WE ARE
We believe that safe, affordable housing is a right.
We offer our services to those in need without judgment regardless of what their barriers to housing may be.

HERE in Jackson County was founded in 2018 by local community members dedicated to addressing gaps in Western North Carolina's services for its homeless population. Since then, we have been designated as Jackson's primary homeless services provider by Jackson County Government and in addition to various regional programs.
Our approach to ending homelessness includes emergency shelter, housing support programs, and assistance in accessing resources necessary to ensure that instances of homelessness are rare, brief, and one time.
OUR STAFF
HERE in Jackson County takes a holistic approach ending homelessness. Our staff provides individualized case management services focused on helping clients overcome their barriers to housing.
We help individuals and families experiencing homelessness by providing guidance and case management services to those living unsheltered and continue providing support to our housed clients to ensure their long term success.
