We offer our services to those in need without judgment regardless of what their barriers to housing may be.
HERE in Jackson County was founded in 2018 by local community members dedicated to addressing gaps in Western North Carolina's services for its homeless population. Since then, we have been designated as Jackson's primary homeless services provider by Jackson County Government and in addition to various regional programs.
Our approach to ending homelessness includes emergency shelter, housing support programs, and assistance in accessing resources necessary to ensure that instances of homelessness are rare, brief, and one time.

HERE in Jackson County takes a holistic approach to ending homelessness. Our dedicated staff offers individualized case management services empowering clients to overcome barriers to housing. We support individuals and families experiencing homelessness by providing guidance and case management those living unsheltered, while also ensuring continued assistance for our housed clients promote their long-term success Together, we work towards a brighter future for our community.
